I recently came across a beautiful story about Saint Mother Teresa. While traveling on an airplane, she began praying the Rosary with a companion. Sitting nearby was a Catholic man who, though not in the habit of saying the Rosary, recognized her and instinctively joined in. Something about her quiet witness drew him into prayer.
This story struck me—not because it was about a future saint, but because it reminded me that holiness is contagious. Yet, we don’t need to wait for a saint to sit beside us before we pick up our beads. The Holy Spirit is always near, prompting us gently, faithfully, to turn to Mary and her Son through this time-honored devotion.
The Rosary isn’t simply a repetition of prayers; it is a doorway to peace, a weapon in spiritual battle, and a chain that binds us lovingly to our Blessed Mother. Many of the faithful have been gifted with a devotion to the Rosary. If you feel that call, know that it is not random—it is grace.
There are days when I feel deeply moved to pray the Rosary two or even three times. And each time, I am filled with consolation and strength. Life doesn’t get quieter, but somehow I do. The Rosary draws me away from distraction and back to the heart of Christ, through Mary’s eyes.
I am certain that when the day comes for me to meet the Lord face to face, I will not regret a single Hail Mary prayed. Each bead has been a moment of Mary’s maternal intercession, bringing me closer to her Son.
If you have ever wanted to grow in this devotion, I invite you to join our Rosary prayer warriors here at St. Vital. We meet every morning at 8:30 AM before Mass to pray together. Whether you come every day or just once, your presence is a blessing.
Remember: You don’t need to wait for a saint to inspire you. You already have the Holy Spirit, Mary’s invitation, and the Rosary in your hands. Let today be the day you begin—or begin again.
“Say the Rosary every day… Pray, pray a lot and offer sacrifices for sinners…” – Our Lady of Fatima
