FAQ

How do I get involved with the Parish and get to know people?

Attending Mass is a beautiful way to feel connected, not just spiritually but also socially! Stay a little longer afterward to chat with fellow parishioners or join us for our monthly pancake breakfasts—there’s always a warm welcome waiting for you. Beyond Mass, the best way to get involved depends on your interests, and we have plenty to explore! Be sure to check out the “Ministries” and “Events” pages on our website for the latest activities and groups you can join. If you’re a woman, the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) is a wonderful place to meet other Catholic women. They gather on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the parish basement to socialize, pray, deepen their faith, and serve the community. For men, we have the Knights of Columbus, a group dedicated to supporting the parish, giving back to the community, and growing in faith. They gather on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:30 pm in the parish basement. We also offer several other wonderful groups, including the Rock Youth Group, the Young Adults of St. Vital, a Bible Study group, and so much more! No matter where you choose to start, there’s a place for you here in our vibrant parish family. Don’t hesitate to reach out or stop by—you belong here!

What can my children be involved in?

There are so many wonderful ways to get your child involved in our parish community, that it's hard to pick just one. Luckily, you don't have to! Every Sunday at the 11:00 am Mass, we offer Children’s Liturgy for children ages 3-7. This special time brings the weekly Gospel to life in a way that’s engaging and easy for young hearts to understand. Our amazing teachers, Lanie and Lourdes ensure every child feels welcome and inspired! Looking for ways to connect as a family? The Faith and Family Life Formation program, led by the Knights of Columbus, offers activities the whole family will enjoy. Throughout the year, we host events like Sports Camps, Bible Camps, family dances, and talent shows. We’d also love to see you at our Family Bible Study, held once a month (every fourth Sunday) after the 11:00 am Mass. We’d be delighted if you joined us! For our youth in Grades 7-12, the Rock Youth Group gathers twice a month in the church basement after the 5 pm Mass on Saturdays, from about 6:15 - 8:30 pm. These gatherings are filled with faith, fun, and friendship, and we welcome all youth to come and participate! For more ways your child can get involved, please see our "Ministries" and "Events" pages.

How do I enroll my child in the sacraments?

We’re honoured to help your child prepare for and receive the sacraments. Not sure how it all works? No problem, we're here to help! Why should I donate to the Parish?

Giving is a beautiful way to participate in our parish’s mission of celebrating faith and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. As members of this faith community, we all play a role in supporting its growth and sustainability. Your contributions help keep our church running smoothly by covering essential costs, providing meaningful programs and ministries that serve our parishioners and the wider community, and ensuring our parish thrives now and for future generations. Every gift, big or small, makes a difference because you are the Church! Together, we can continue to grow as a vibrant, faith-filled community. Thank you for being part of this mission—it wouldn’t be the same without you!

What are Shadow Boxes and how do they help our Parish?

In July 2017, we faced the tragedy of losing our office building to a fire. While devastating, it gave us the opportunity to rebuild and expand, creating more office and meeting spaces to better serve our parish. Since then, our parish has undergone significant changes over the years to ensure safety, expand our facilities, and serve our community effectively. This includes essential renovations to ensure the safety and usability of our building, and a rectory was added to accommodate additional staff. These important projects have left the parish with debt to the diocese, and we’re working together as a community to pay it down. Want to help? That's where Shadow Boxes come in! Shadow Boxes: In the church basement, you’ll find a floor plan where you can “purchase” a square foot of the church for $100. Payments can be made via direct deposit, cheque, or cash, and if you’d like, your name can be permanently engraved on the floor plan as a legacy of your support. Every donation makes a difference, and together, we can ensure our parish continues to thrive for generations to come. Thank you for being part of this journey!
