Baptism

Thank you for considering baptism for your child!

We recommend starting baptism preparation before your little one arrives, if possible. Getting ready in advance can help avoid the need for babysitters and add to the excitement as you await your baby’s arrival.

During the course, we will guide you through everything you need to know. Topics include the Sacrament of Baptism, the role of Godparents, other important requirements, what to expect on the day, and more.

If you're an adult interested in baptism, please visit our RCIA page.

Preparation

Please bring the following to the preparation course:

  • The name(s) and contact information of the intended Godparents. (Godparents must be Catholic.)

  • A copy of your child(ren)’s birth certificate(s). We require the "personal and parentage" version, which includes the parents' names.

  • Optional: A completed registration form. You will fill this out during the session, but if you'd like to review the Baptismal Registration Form in advance, you can find it on the Archdiocese of Edmonton website: Baptismal Registration Form.
