It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved pastor, Father Les Drewicki.
Father Les touched the lives of each and every one of us. Through his powerful homilies, compassionate presence, and unwavering faith, he inspired us to grow in deeper communion with God and with one another. He had a remarkable gift for remembering names and making every parishioner feel seen, known, and uniquely loved.
Though our hearts ache at the thought of spending Holy Week and Easter without him, we are comforted by the knowledge that Father Les now celebrates the fullness of the Resurrection in heaven. Our good and gentle Father has called him home — not because his work here was done, but because He wanted him by His side for this sacred season.
Father Les was more than a pastor — he was a shepherd, a teacher, a friend, and a spiritual father to our parish family. We will miss him dearly and give thanks for the beautiful legacy he leaves behind.
May Christ, who conquered death, bring peace to our hearts and grant eternal life to our beloved Father Les.
Funeral Mass Information:
Fr. Les’ funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24 at St. Joseph’s Basilica. As the service is expected to be full, we will be livestreaming the funeral Mass at St. Vital Parish so that our parishioners can participate from the comfort of our own church.
